Cem is a Partner at Bio-nAbler and a global C-level strategy, technology and investment executive with more than twenty-five years of cross-border experience across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. He has spent his career at the intersection of life sciences strategy, M&A and corporate development, advising Fortune 500 organizations and leading private market investors on portfolio strategy, transactions and organizational design.
Most recently, Cem served as Chief Investment Officer for a €2.5Bn-turnover diversified multinational group, where he led global healthcare investments and partnerships and managed a multi-hundred-million-dollar portfolio focused on M&A and strategic collaborations across venture capital funds, private equity, biotechs, digital health and established pharmaceuticals.
Prior to that role, Cem was Executive Vice President and Chief Consulting Officer at Norstella — the approximately US$5Bn life sciences data, consulting and technology platform backed by Hg, Warburg Pincus and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. He led a global team of more than seventy consultants across the US, Europe, China and Japan, scaling the firm's Global Consulting business across strategy, transaction advisory, analytics and technology services for pharmaceutical, biotech and institutional clients.
Earlier, Cem spent twelve years at IQVIA, where he established and led the firm's consulting business across multiple geographies. His final role was Managing Director and Global Head of Portfolio Strategy Consulting, with P&L responsibility and co-leadership of the Digital Health Consulting Center of Excellence. He began his career at Accenture and spent his first decade based in the United States before relocating to London.
Cem advises venture capital firms, private equity sponsors, family offices and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies at both Board and execution levels on investments and strategic initiatives. He is an active angel investor and serves as an advisor to startups, incubators and accelerators including The Crick Institute's KQ Labs and EIT Health. He is also a frequent keynote speaker on AI, drug development strategy and healthcare investment.
Cem holds a PhD from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a research focus on the applications of artificial intelligence.
